Dr. Bhupen Hazarika (8 September 1926 – 5 November 2011) remains one of India’s most iconic musicians, poets, lyricists, and cultural visionaries. His birth anniversary on 8th September 2026 marks his centennial year, celebrating a rich legacy that carried the soul of Assam and the spirit of the Northeast to the world. To honor this historic occasion, Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology hosted a celebratory program, which commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp (Banti Prajwalan) and concluded with a soulful rendition of his legendary song, “Manuhe Manuhor Babe”
