Ajmal Foundation Honoured with ‘Mahatma Award 2026’ on Gandhi Jayanti
Our Correspondent, Nilbagan, October 2: On the sacred occasion of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Ajmal Foundation of Hojai, a leading voluntary organisation of the North-Eastern region, received a prestigious recognition. For its outstanding contribution towards education and social development, the Ajmal Foundation was honoured with the ‘Mahatma Award 2026’ under the category “Social Good & Impact – Quality Education.”
The award ceremony was organised by the Mahatma Foundation, Delhi, with the support and patronage of Rajashree Birla and the Aditya Birla Group. The award recognises individuals and organisations that have made a significant and lasting impact in areas such as social development, education, healthcare, inclusivity and social welfare. For the past four decades, Ajmal Foundation has been making notable contributions towards the overall development of society, particularly in the field of education. Through its various educational initiatives, the Foundation has been working to provide quality education and opportunities to talented students from economically disadvantaged sections of society.
The Foundation’s efforts in promoting quality education, creating opportunities for students and contributing to social welfare have received appreciation at various levels. Accepting the recognition, Ajmal Foundation Managing Trustee Dr. H. M. Ajmal stated that the award is not merely an honour but also a recognition of the Foundation’s four decades of commitment, struggle and responsibility towards society. He further expressed that the recognition would inspire the organisation to work with renewed enthusiasm and dedication for the development of Assam and the entire North-Eastern region, particularly in the fields of quality education and social service.
The Mahatma Foundation’s Mahatma Award 2026 ceremony was attended by Dr. M. H. Ajaz, who represented/received the award on behalf of the Foundation.
