A two-day offline workshop on “Integration of Generative AI, Interactive e-Content and Advanced Technologies in Higher Education” was successfully conducted on 19th and 20th September 2026 at Nazir Ajmal Memorial Hall, Nazir Ajmal Memorial College of Education, Hojai.
The workshop marked the beginning of the Thirty-Two-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) aimed at strengthening the digital and technological capabilities of faculty members and promoting the meaningful integration of Artificial Intelligence, interactive e-content and emerging technologies in higher education.
More than 100 faculty members and participants from different institutions under Ajmal Foundation took part in the two-day offline programme. The sessions focused on practical and hands-on learning in areas such as:
- Generative AI and its applications in higher education
- AI-assisted teaching, learning and research
- Prompt Engineering for teaching, learning and research
- Interactive e-content creation
- AI-powered presentation and visual learning tools
- Digital assessment and learning management systems
- AI-enabled teaching strategies
- AI tutors and learning assistants
- Learning analytics and emerging educational technologies
- Future-ready course design and responsible use of AI
The sessions were led by Prof. K. Srinivas, Programme Director & Head, Information and Communication Technology & Project Management, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, who served as the Resource Person for the programme.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Jogen Chandra Kalita, Dean, Faculty of Science, Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, Assam.
The two-day face-to-face component provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with the resource person, explore AI tools and develop practical understanding through interactive activities and demonstrations.
The programme will now continue for the remaining 30 days in online mode, taking the total duration of the Faculty Development Programme to 32 days. The extended online component will provide continued learning and practical engagement in AI-enabled education, digital content development, assessment, analytics, course redesign and other emerging technologies.
The Thirty-Two-Day Faculty Development Programme is organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs) of:
Ajmal Law College, Hojai;
Nazir Ajmal Memorial College of Education, Hojai;
Haji Ajmal Ali College, Nilbagan, Hojai; and
Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science & Technology, Hojai.
The initiative reflects the institutions’ continued efforts towards technology-enabled teaching, faculty development and future-ready higher education.
